Amazon has a trade-in program wherein you can send in old gadgets and get an Amazon gift card back. Amazon has expanded the range of devices that you can trade in. You can now trade in older Kindles as well as non-Kindle e-reader devices. Trading in a Kindle should net you anywhere between $25 and $135 depending on the model and the device's condition. Amazon even pays for shipping costs to send your old device out to them!
Kindle Fire costs $199. If you get at least $75 from the device you traded in, it's as if you got the new Kindle Fire for free! Not only that, you would be able to help the world "green" by properly recycling devices and electronics.
The whole process will only take you a few minutes. The result is either a savings (or profit) and actually saving the Earth.
