In a electronic components site, the Lambda Tek Component, a very familiar device appeared. Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2 listing suddenly popped out of nowhere. Some of the details are now revealed for the very popular Eee Pad brand.
The model number on the pre-order page and the specs listed likely confirms the unknown device as the successor to the Eee Pad Transformer. Rumors circulated that the Transformer 2 will feature the quad-core Kal-El processor. It is now likely that the processor would actually be the Tegra 3.
The sparse details on the Lambda Tek's site claim that the sequel to the Transformer device will sport 10.1″ screen, 32 GB internal storage, 1 GB of RAM. The Transformer 2 will run Android 3.x. The Ice Cream Sandwich is set to be released soon. It does make sense that the device will run on the device.
Pricing is tabbed at will be £448.21 without VAT (converts to about $698.71 USD). However direct conversion doesn't really reflect reality. The current pricing of the Eee Pad Transformer and its keyboard dock costs around $475 altogether in Amazon. Depending on the sellers, the price for the Eee Pad Transformer 2 would be around $599 for the 32GB variant.
Finally, the Lambda Tek listed November 7 as the shipping date. If the posting is indeed accurate the Transformer 2 is indeed coming soon.
