Ultrabooks are on the verge of flooding out to the market. The supposed-to-be-below-$1000, less than 3 lbs and less than an inch thick laptops with high performing Intel processors will have an unusual competition. The Romanian-based device manufacturer is introducing a thin and light laptop that they call "lightest notebook in the world".
We've already seen netbooks that weigh around 2 pounds but the Evolio U9 has an intriguing design. It weighs around 2.16 lbs and 0.7 inch thick. It features 11.6 inch display with 1366×768 display.
The notebook also runs at 1.6 GHz dual core Intel Atom Cedar Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, SSD with 64GB storage or 128GB. This laptop is not the fastest in terms of processing power. Still, it can handle HD video playback because of its HDMI port. The battery life is expected to be around 5 hours. This laptop is due to be out this December but we don't know yet how much it will cost but it will definitely be cheaper than ultrabooks by a huge margin.
