Intel Atom Powered Windows 8 Tablet Coming 2nd Half of 2012

Intel shipped Cedar Trail powered netbooks last week, now it's time for speculation time on when is their next generation of processors are going to be released. As of this moment, the Oak Trail tablets are struggling in the market because of its thick profile, heat issues and horrible battery life.

Medfield tablets and smartphones are going to be available in the first half of 2012. In the second half of 2012, we are then going to see Windows 8 tablets with Clover Trail W processors. Clover Trail W is meant to be a successor to Medfield.

We first saw Intel demo a Moorsetown smartphone at CES 2010, so it has been a long time for Intel to join the smartphone/tablet fray. The above roadmap hints that another generation of Atom processors are going to be released at the second half of 2012.
