Many were disappointed a few months earlier when it was announced that the launch of the much awaited Intel Cedar Trail was moved to 2012. The delay was rumored to be caused by some graphics driver issues in the platform and that it has not yet passed certification for Windows 7. The Cedar Trail is Intel's latest Atom processor, built upon a dual 32nm core.
The Acer Aspire One D270 (AOD270) is a 10.1-incher, which is said to be running 1.6GHz Atom N2600 processor. The AOD270 is also believed to be equipped with 1GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. It will be available with either a three-cell or six-cell battery.
Pricing for a new Intel Cedar Trail-based Acer netbook AOD270 have popped up in Europe as follows:
- 250 euros ($324 USD) for the three cell model
- 269 euros ($348 USD) for the six-cell version
