Samsung NP305U1A Review

The Samsung NP305U1A is a netbook released in the middle of last year. There has been a few reviews about the netbook, since most of the tech sites reviewed its full laptop edition, the ones powered with an Intel i3 processor. This netbook is an 11.6 form factor. It has matte screen with 1366×768 display resolution.

Samsung rammed a 12-inch screen in the 11.6-inch form factor allowing a very thin bezel. The netbook has matte finish all over its body with an aluminum accent, however, the netbook itself is made out of plastic. Even so, the netbook feels sturdy.

The keyboard is an island-style chiclet with rubbery feel. The touchpad is average but allows multitouch gesture albeit very poorly. Powered by AMD Fusion, the netbook could handle HD video playback and light gaming. It can't run modern games but casual ones can be played without much problems. The speaker is below average, given how cheap this netbook is, it is not a surprise. The 2GB RAM is enough, but those who prefer more could easily upgrade this device. Unfortunately, this netbook has only one slot for RAM.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is built-in. Three USB ports are also included, all 2.0 though, not 3.o speeds, but one of the USB ports is a powered one so you can charge your gadgets even if the netbook is turned off. A card reader is also included. HDMI as well.

Depending with the vendor, this netbook is available in 3, 4, and 6-cell battery. The 3 cell could give you 2 and a half hours of autonomy. The higher capacity batteries, of course, offer longer battery life. This netbook comes with Windows 7 Home Basic Edition at 64-bit.
