Ice Cream Sandwich seems to have failed in impressing consumers, especially now that Microsoft is starting to become more dominant with Windows 8. For that, Google should find a way to have their OS start mattering on the tablet market. Honeycomb was criticized a lot while Android 4.0 doesn't really bring anything impressive to the table, not even to large screen devices at. Nonetheless, Android 5.0 Jelly Bean should take care of the tablet evolution.
Windows 8 should debut in Q3 2012, while Google will most likely counter it with Android 5.0 in Q2, maybe in May, which is the traditional month for the Google I/O event. Taiwanese supply chain makers claim that Jelly Bean will be optimized for tablet PCs and will integrate some chrome functions.
This will also be part of a dual operating system that will make it a bundle with Windows 8 at some point. Users can even switch between Win 8 and Jelly Bean without rebooting.
Android 5.0 also wants to leave a mark on the netbook as well as on the notebook market apparently, while Android 4.0 and Honeycomb didn't get that much love Google partners are starting to get all skeptical about the next release.
