Acer Iconia Tab A200 Rolling Out Ice Cream Sandwich Update

True to their previous announcement, Acer has rolled out its Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the new Iconia Tab A200 Android tablet this February. Users of the Acer Iconia Tab A200, which was only launched last month with Android Honeycomb, should be able to get the update version Acer_AV041_A200_1.037.00_PA_CUS1.

Some may receive a notification regarding its availability, in which case, they should simply follow the instructions on how to download and install the update. Others, however, who do not get a notice, may do a manual check by going to Settings, then to About Tablet, then to System update, then selecting Check now. This should prompt the tablet to look for the update.

This update should bring the 10.1-inch tablet at par with other Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablets. Add to that its specifications of a dual-core Tegra 2 CPU with a clock speed of 1000 Mhz, 1000 MB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and an LCD screen with 1280×800-pixel display resolution, and its users can compete with the most popular and functional of Android tablets today.

Other features include a 3260 mAh Lithium Polymer battery, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a camera, accelerometer, and ports for MicroSD and MicroSDHC. This tablet has a price range of $329 to $350.
