Samsung Will Release Celeron-based Chromebook

Intel-Celeron based laptop is so 2008, but in 2012 CES, Samsung unveiled a Series 5 laptop wielding the old Celeron. It will be enough since this Celeron-powered notebook is a Chromebook.

The unnamed Celereon CPU in Samsung 2nd generation of Chromebooks replaces the Atom N570 chip that was used in the preceding generation. Celerons are traditionally more power hungry than the Atom chips but Samsung said that the battery life would be comparable to the Atom-powered Chromebooks. The computing performance will also be significantly increased.

Another change on the Series 5 Chromebook is its design, glossy is out and the lid will have matte finish.

Everything is retained from the 12.1 inch screen to the 16GB internal storage. Connectivity include 3G and Wi-Fi.

This Chromebook would be released on Q2 2012 with a price of #399 for the Wi-Fi model and $440 for the 3G version.
