Atom is probably going gone. Intel, according to rumors, are considering to rebrand the Atom chip lineup. Atom chips show sliding sales. The company seem to be blaming poor brand image. Of course, early Atom chips were superslow and had been slammed by reviewers all over the place.
The rebranding will affect the N-, D-, Z- and E-series of processors made for netbooks. Current processors will retain their name, however, the Cedar Trail will probably use a new name. The Cedra Trail lineup is expected to arrive in early next year. Although, the rebranding date is not yet known.
