HP's PC division might not be stable right now but they continue to throw out PC releases and upgrades. Today, HP is announcing that their much beloved DM1 netbook will sport a new look. The price will start at $599 and this time there is an option to either choose a second-gen Intel Core processor or the AMD Fusion chipset. The 11-inch netbook is thinner than an inch and weighs around 3.5 lbs. There will be a soft-touch rubber finishing to make it durable, an enhancement from its earlier incarnation.
Another glaring improvement on its design is the back hinge being adjusted. Now the screen will lie with the body when the laptop is closed as opposed to having the battery bulge out. The curves of DM1 is now more pronounced. For those who hate the cheap silver look, good news; the keyboard, palm rests and touchpad have gone black or ash grey.
This laptop is perfect for frequent travelers or college students with strict budget. It also comes pack with HP's Protectsmart technology an accelerometer-based program that detects bumps and drops to stop the hard drive from spinning, saving your files from going gone.
