LG unveils the Shuriken Eighteen ultrabook

LG Shuriken Eighteen

LG is the latest computer maker to throw its hat in the ultrabook ring. This week LG is showing off a thin and light notebook with an Intel Ivy Bridge processor. When it launches, it will join ultrabooks from Acer, Asus, Lenovo, and Toshiba.

Netbook News and NewGadgets got to spend a little time with an LG Shuriken Eighteen prototype at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco. The computer has a 13.3 inch glossy display, a chicle-style keyboard, a large touchpad (with a separate mouse button, which sets it apart from most ultrabooks), and a remarkably glossy black case which will show fingerprints, not just on the lid, but also around the keyboard and palm rest area.

The good news is that the notebook appears to have a very, very thin bezel around the display, making it one of the smaller 13.3 inch ultrabooks.

There's no word on when this laptop will be available, but since it has an Ivy Bridge processor, my guess would be early next year.
