Intel Atom Cedar Trail Are Now Shipping

Intel Atom logoIntel started supplying Cedar Trail chips to computer manufacturers, meaning, we could see netbook and desktop computers to run the new Atom processors by the end of the year. The Cedar Trail platform covers a range of new chips which includes the Atom N2600 and N2800 for notebooks. The D2500 and D2700 are for desktops. The new 32 nanometer chips are expected to have an improved overall performance and much much better graphics performance than its predecessors.

This new iterations of are clocked as high as 2.13 GHz and can handle 1080p HD video playback, has HDMI video output and Blu-ray video capable. Current, Atom chips is limited to 2GB memory, this new processors can handle up to 4GB of RAM.
