Lenovo IdeaPad Releases Budget Friendly Tablet

We've seen how HP Touchpad being sold like pancakes when its price was slashed down to $99. Lenovo would like to have a piece of the budget-minded market and will release a $200 7″ IdeaPad A1. The tablet will only house 8GB of internal memory but it does have micro-SD/full-sized SD expansion on its bottom left. The 16 GB version of this tablet will be availble for $250. The IdeaPad A1′s price is the one that is disappointing though still respectable, a 1GHz, single-core A8.

This will have both front and back cameras–3MP and VGA, respectively. It will sport an IPS display with a resolution of 1024×600. The IdeaPad A1 will be available in different colors like black, light blue, pink and white. This device will run Android 2.3 instead of Honeycomb and this will not be upgradeable to the later. Minimal skinning over Gingerbread is also expected. This tablet will be available from mid-to-late September.
