Cedar Trail pushed back till next yearBad news. It has been announced that the Cedar trail will be launched this fall or on the holidays. Now, it looks like the Atom successor will be delayed till 2012. The Cedar Trail chips are made for netbooks and tablets. According to Cindy Ng, Intel's netbook and hybrid division marketing head, the delay is mainly caused by the additions of new technology.

One of the added features is the Rapid Start feature. The Rapid Start is one of the headline features of the upcoming ultrabook line. This technology would allow netbooks' start-up in about 3 seconds.

The other feature is Smart Connect. Basically, it allows web applications to stay running even if the device is sleeping. This feature is seen in Windows 8. With this feature, services like Twitter updates itself.
