The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 was announce d in a Press briefing not so long ago. This hybrid tablet is rumored for a December 9th release. ASUS has already set up an official product page. There is nothing really new that the official product page show. The Transformer will be launching with Android 3.2 but will be upgraded later to Android 4.0.
The Transformer Prime has a 10.1″ Super IPS+, 1280 x 800 screen. It also supports 10 finger multitouch display with Corning's Gorilla Glass. Nvidia's new Tegra 3 quad core processor with 1GB or RAM powers the tablet and the option for a 32 or 64GB SSD along side some cloud based storage from ASUS Webstorage.
The camera probably has the most improvements since it will push into 8MP rear facing camera. It also has 1.2MP on the front armed with increase shutter speeds. The rear camera has flash and a larger aperture of F2.4. The connectivities include 2-in-1 audio jack, micro-HDMI, microSD, internal microphone and the dock offers additional 1 USB 2.0 & a full sized card reader. There are also a series of sensors including G-Sensor, Gyroscope, E-compass, GPS and Light Sensor.
The Transformer will cost you $499 (32GB) or $599 if you choose the 64GB. The original Transformer will drop in price down to $399 for the 16GB and $499 for the 32GB. ASUS already killed the original Transformer since the prime at 32 GB and the original 32GB has only $55 difference.
