The Aspire S3 notebook is now being shipped by Acer with upgraded configurations on Amazon for $1,231. This upgrade puts the S3 Ultrabook in a more direct battle with the Apple's Macbook which also offers i5 & i7. The S3s outfitted with the Core i7 processor also includes a 240GB SSD, an upgrade to 320GB HDD paired with a smaller 20GB SSD.
The internals from both models also share an aluminum / magnesium chassis that measures around 0.51-inches thick and measures 12.59″ x 8.52″ x 0.51″ to 0.68″. It also weighs in at 2.98 lbs. The screen is also at 13.3-inch LED backlit HD unit . A memory card reader is also included and a headphone connector. Intel HD 3000 is the ones powering graphics and storage drive is a 320GB HDD. The native screen resolution is 1366×768. Standby hours is 50 days or 6 hours with continuous use.
