Notebook producers who have not yet released its own line of Ultrabooks are sure getting ready to release theirs at the CES 2012. HP, Samsung and Dell are the three makers that we have to keep a close eye on. New flavors of ultrabooks are also expected from Acer, ASUS, Lenovo and Toshiba.
The traditional HD storage are facing shortages because of the floods in Thailand. Since the ultrabooks mostly use SSDs, they are not affected with the mentioned shortage. Currently, most of the market watchers expect ultrabook to be 20-30% of notebook shipments. Acer president Jim Wong, expects the segment to account for 25-30%. Intel hopes for 40%.
