MSI Slatebook Coming to Europe, U.S. in 3rd Quarter

While Dell is planning to release its own tablet PC Streak in June, MSI for its part will be releasing its own tablet PC called MSI Slatebook not until the 3rd Quarter of 2010.  In case you're wondering why MSI is taking too long to release its Slatebook, well you could probably attribute it to the fact that MSI is still  negotiating with local telecom carriers in U.S. and Europe.

MSI Chairman Joseph Hsu also believes that despite the sale of  the iPad, global market demand for tablet PCs will not take off until 2011. By that time, apps and services would be sufficiently available.

MSI is also slowing down its production of  netbooks, with only 2-3 new models to be introduced this year.  Mr. Hsu admits that netbook demand is finally dropping down.

MSI also plans demo its Wind U160 netbook during the Computex as well as the Slatebook.
