Upon release of the promising Eee PC 1005PR with a Broadcom Crystal HD Video accelerator, some users left negative reviews on the netbook, claiming it didn't have the Broadcom accelerator built in. At that time, Asus hadn't given a definitive answer regarding the issue but, we can now confirm that the company is working on the issue.
It appears that every 1005PR netbook does have the Broadcom Crystal HD Accelerator built in. At least two of the netbooks returned however had a loose daugherboard cable. While other units sent back have been upgraded from Windows 7 Starter to Home Premium or Ultimate and the Broadcom drivers were not reinstalled.
It isn't clear how many of the netbooks shipped have this issue but, Brad Linder has asked Asus for a rough idea on the number of netbooks sold to gather what percentage have problems.
