Asus Eee PC 1215N Equipped with Atom D150 Previewed

While Intel is preparing to release it latest Atom processor N550, Asus couldn't wait any longer and decided to test a new processor.  Netbooknews.de managed to test out the new Asus Eee PC 1215N running the Atom D510 dual core processor.  The D510 was not really designed for netbooks but for desktop computer.  This makes the Eee PC 1215N the first laptop to use the D510.

In addition to the Atom D510 CPU, the Eee PC 1215N is also equipped with the 2nd generation NVIDIA ION graphics chipset. This allows the netbook to handle 1080p HD video as well as accelerate some graphics performance.

Other features of the Eee PC 1215N include – 12.1-inch 1366×768 HD display, HDMI and VGA output, 3 USB ports and flash card.

What's not clear as of this time is whether Asus will be making the Eee PC 1215N netbook available to the public or wait for the release of the N550 and replaced the netbook's CPU with it. Any guesses?
