Asus Plans to Build a Netbook with a Slot-in Phone

Well, the idea may seem pretty absurd but who knows it might actually click. According to The Inquirer, Asus is planning to release a new netbook that will have a slot-in mobile phone that will double as a 3G communications module.

The phone module that will come with the new netbook was made by an Israeli company called Modu. It's actually on sale now, and Asus is adapting it to fit into their new netbooks. The netbook will make it easy for users to put in SIM card and data account for both a phone and a portable computer.

The idea is to have a portable device that can also serve as a mobile phone but you can still pull out the unit in case you don't want to use it with the netbook and then put it back on when you want to.

No other information is available yet about this Asus netbook. But do you find it interesting?
