Call it a smartbook, netbook or whatever you like, but the Sharp Netwalker which is currently available in the Japanese market is definitely cheap at $1.15. But there's a catch of course. To get this machine you need to sign a 2 year data contract with from Japan's Emobile which will cost you from 2900 to 6880 Yen monthly.
But should you agree to the data plan, you'll get unlimited 3G data connectivity via a USB 3G stick. Plus, Emobile would also throw in an 8GB microSD.
The bad news of course is that the Sharp Netwalker with 3G is available only in Japan.
