Cherrypal Releases a $99 Netbook and a 13-Inch Netbook-Like Notebook

Frankly, I really don't get what's on the minds of the folks at Cherrypal. They just released two new products – the Cherrypal Africa and Cherrypal Bing.  Africa is a 7-inch netbook powered by a 400 MHz CPU which is commonly used by mobile phones. It runs on either Linux or Windows CE and comes with a 256MB of RAM and 2GB of storage.

Because of this lowly features, the Cherrypal Africa is priced at only $99. Definitely among the cheapest netbook we have around today. But that is if you still categorized this kind of machines with highly inferior specs.

Moving on the other machine released, the Cherrypal Bing has the specs of your usual netbooks but with a 13-inch screen. How weird is that? Bing (not the search engine) boast of  Intel Atom 1.6Ghz CPU, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows XP, WiFi, 1.3MP webcam and a card reader. It's price is also very netbook-like at $389.
