iMac Shipments Delayed Due to Screen Problems

Word on the street says that Apple's 27-inch iMac has been delayed in shipping to resellers due to screen issues such as flickering screens. Two unnamed Apple resellers are saying that the shipment of iMacs has been delayed for at least two weeks while Apple replaces graphics cards in an effort to resolve the issue.

On Apple's online store, the shipping status for 27-inch iMacs notes shipping times of two weeks compared to previous estimates of 5-7 days. While some have hinted that these delays are due to high volumes of sales, users who ordered iMacs before the shipping time increase have said that their shipping date has been pushed back to two weeks.

The 27-inch iMacs were introduced in late October and have been plagued with problems ever since. Users immediately complained of slow playback for Flash video, which was resolved for some with an update from Apple.

Apple has thus far declined to answer emails regarding the shipping delay.
