Nexus 7 case sleeps tablet via sleep magnet

Shortly after the Nexus 7 was released to the masses, one new owner found that the Nexus 7 had a hidden magnet that turned the screen off on the tablet and back on. We can now confirm that certain cases released for the Nexus 7 make use of this feature. In this video upload by MobileFun, we can see the SD TabletWear case puts the Google Nexus 7 to sleep when the case is closed and wakes the tablet up once the case is open. The case works in a similar way to Apple's Smart Case and iPad. The main difference between the two devices however, is the Nexus 7′s magnet is located on the left hand side, so the case needs to be opened fully to wake the tablet. Personally I think this is a very clever design as I often found the Smart Case on my iPad opening slightly and turning the screen on, which won't be a problem with the Nexus 7.

You can see the case in action below.
