Hyundai is getting ready to unveil three tablets that all run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich this year. The devices will have different display measurements, namely 7 inches, 9.7 inches, and 10.1 inches.
The 7-inch tablet called Hyundai HT-7B reminds one of the Amazon Kindle Fire or the Google Nexus 7 because of its size. That, however, is where the similarities end. The device comes with 8 GB of storage capacity, a screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, a Samsung processor clocked at 1 GHz and a 4000 mAh battery. It also features Wi-Fi and GPS for connectivity and dual cameras which have a 2 megapixel and 0.3 megapixel sensor. This device costs around US $180 or 7000 Russian Roubles. Users who want extra features such as navigation software from Navitel and 3G capability may avail of the product for US $207 or 8000 Roubles.
The 9.7 inch tablet is called the Hyundai HT-9B. The device has onboard a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor, Mali-400 graphics processor, a 2 megapixel main camera, a 0.3 megapixel front camera, and a 5600 mAh battery. Covered in a fully metal casing, it has several ports including USB 2.0 and HDMI and offers GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. For ease of use, the device has an optional dock for a keyboard. It currently retails for US $270.
The last in the range is the Hyundai HT-10B which is jam-packed with a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor coupled with a Mali 400 GPU. Its storage capacity is 16 GB while its RAM is 1 GB. Like the other tablets, it has a 2 megapixel camera and a 0.3 megapixel one for video calls. Connectivity-wise, this tablet has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G. USB 2.0 and HDMI ports are also available. Finally, it is powered by a 5600 mAh battery and sells for around $311.
Hyundai estimates that it will sell 200K of its tablets in 2012.
