While T-Mobile hasn't made any official announcements about an upcoming tablet bearing the wireless carrier's own name, the folks at PocketNow just uncovered a set of trademark applications from T-Mobile for a G-Surf, G-Slate, and Reader's cafe.
The G-Slate certainly sounds like some sort of tablet computer, and in fact, the trademark applications for the G-Slate and G-Surf mention"cellular phones and cellular-enabled tablet computers." It's also possible that we're talking about some sort of wireless hotspot and not just a tablet.
The Reader's Cafe could be some sort of eBook store, although it's not clear whether T-Mobile plans to get into the eBook business on its own or if the company could be partnering with existing vendors. It's also not clear whether the Reader's Cafe would offer books, newspapers, and magazines for dedicated eBook readers or for apps that would run on tablets. In case you haven't detected a theme here, there's still a lot we don't know about all three trademark applications.
