Gigabyte recently updated its line of convertible tablet-style netbooks to include the Gigabyte T1005 10.1 inch netbook with a dual core Atom N550 processor. But if you're looking for something a bit cheaper, without the tablet functionality, it looks like Gigabyte has you covered. The company's new Q2005 netbook has the same Atom N550 chip as its cousin, but it lacks the touchscreen or swiveling display.
The Q2005 also lacks the high resolution display found on the T1005. This model has a standard 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel screen. The rest of the specs are also pretty standard netbook fare, including 1GB of DDR3 memory (with support for up to 2GB), a 250GB hard drive (with support for up to 500GB), 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Optional Bluetooth 3.0, a 0.3MP camera, Ethernet and VGA ports, and a 3 or 6 cell battery.
The only thing that really sets this model apart from the crowd is an 8-in-1 flash card reader (most netbooks come with SD card readers, or maybe SD/MMC/MS readers).
There's no official word on pricing yet, but I'm guessing it's fair to the Q2005 will be cheaper than the tablet-style Gigabyte T1005, which runs about $579 and up.
