Airis Slimpad is an 11″ Windows 7 tablet under two pounds

The Airis Slimpad is almost a very interesting tablet, but it falls short in a couple areas. Still, there's plenty to like about the device. It's got a spacious 11.6″ 1366×768 pixel capacitive display, 32GB SSD, Mini HDMI out, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and Windows 7. Now for the shortfalls. For a CPU, the Slimpad packs an Intel Atom N450 at 1.6Ghz — not the freshest horse in the stables by any means. It's got wireless, though only 802.11B/G, and N support would definitely make it a more compelling device.

Airis lists the street price of the Slimpad at €600 to 800 — or roughly $800 to 1050 U.S. That seems a little on the steep side, so you may want to wait for the upcoming flood of new tablets to emerge before opening your wallet for this one. Oh yeah… It also bears a very striking resemblance to the Pegatron Masterpad tablet we saw back in August…
