Here's something for that not-so-cheap Christmas gift: a Chinese manufacturer's managed to pack in a 1.8GHz dual core Intel Atom D525 CPU and NVIDIA ION 2 graphics into a decent-sized laptop. You may remember that the Atom was made netbooks rather than the bigger laptops, but it seems to be performing fine. Boasting a 14-inch display, the laptop also has something that most netbooks don't have – a DVD burner. Add to this 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 320GB hard drive and HDMI output, you've got a decent enough laptop for a gift. Plus, it won't break the bank at $340. Of course, you'll have to import it from China, though.
