Intel is expected to launch new low power Atom processors for netbooks, tablets, and smartphones later this year. The folks at VR Zone have also managed to get a roadmap which shows that Intel is also planning to introduce two or more desktop Atom chips in the next quarter.
The new chips will be called the Atom D600 series and D700 series. The chips will be designed to fit in fourt different mini-ITX motherboards with support for DD3 memory.
There's no information about the clock speed, graphics performance, or other details. It's likely that the chips will come in single and dual core models though, much like Intel's current line of Atom chips for desktop computers.
