Archos currently offers a whole line of Android powered media players and internet tablets with screen sizes ranging from 2.8 inches to 10.1 inches. But the folks at Russian site The eBook have gotten their hands on a previously unannounced Archos tablet with an 8 inch screen.
The Archos Arnova A80KSC stands out from the crowd by using a 4:3 aspect ratio for the display instead of the 16:9 ratio that seems to be all the rage these days. While 16:9 screens are great for watching widescreen video, 4:3 tends to be better for reading eBooks and viewing web pages.
The tablet will reportedly be announced in March. All we really know about it at the moment is that it has an 8 inch matte display, runs Google Android, has a metal case, and weighs about 1.1 pounds.
We should know more about the hardware and software next month.
