NEC has unveiled a new netbook for the Japanese market which features an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor and runs Google Android 2.2.
The NEC LifeTouch Note features a 7 inch, 800 x 480 pixel resistive touchscreen display, a 2MP camera, GPS, and accelerometer. There will be three versions:
- With 3G, WiFi and 8GB of storage
- WiFi-only and 8G of storage
- WiFi-only and 4Gb of storage.
According to Akihabara News, the LifeTouch Note will support the Google Android Market, making it the first notebook-style device with a full QWERTY keyboard that I'm aware of to come with the Android Market preloaded.
The device features some custom NEC software and will run between 40,000 and 45,00 yen in Japan, which is about $477 to $537 US, although computers tend to cost more in Japan than the US, so if it ever makes it across the globe, the US price would likely be lower.
