While everyone are busy monitoring the ongoings at the Mobile Web Congresss 2011 in Barcelona Spain, NEC in Japan is busy launching its first Android netbook – the NEC LifeTouch Note. Running Android 2.2, this Android netbook is loaded with NVIDIA Tegra 250 mobile processor, 7-inch LED backlit resistive touchscreen (800×480), GPS, acclerometer, SD and SDHC card slots and a 2MP webcam.
The NEC LifeTouch is available in three models – one with Wi-Fi, 3G and 8GB of internal memory, a WiFi only model, and a WiFi with 4GB of internal memory with price range 45,000 Yen, 45,000 Yen, and 40,000 Yen respectively.
Design-wise, there's nothing really spectacular about the LifeTouch Note. It looks a lot like your ordinary netbook. It weighs 699g almost as heavy as the iPad.
No words yet on when this will be released either in Japan or internationally.
