Netbooks to Have DTS Audio Solutions Soon

With all the features that have been put into netbooks, what could more could we possibly expect from netbook manufacturers to make their machines still interesting? Well, Asustek got an idea – how about putting DTS audio capability? Sounds good right.

Well, a netbook equipped with DTS solutions may become a reality pretty soon as Asustek and DTS has reached a partnership agreement which will put DTS on Asustek motherboards. DTS-equipped netbooks will be available sometime in 2010 according to DTS CEO Jon Kirchner.

Mr. Kirchner believes that DTS has different levels of solutions that can be used for PC products including netbooks. And the company wants to maximize its current ties with PC manufacturers including Asustek, Acer and others to integrate their DTS solution to these manufacturers machines.

Currently, DTS audio solutions on PCs only account for less than 5% of the company's income. Mr. Kirchner hopes that with DTS on board netbooks will gain the company increased revenues.
