Late 2008 and early 2009, Coby has been touting its own netbook lines. In fact, during the Computex, Coby was able to display several of these netbooks. Unfortunately, the Coby netbooks have never really made as far as "being announcements".
And just when we might have given hope on finally seeing the Coby netbooks in the market, here comes Amazon selling not just one but two Coby netbooks.
The first Coby-branded netbook is the Coby NMP1220XPBLK with the following features:
- 12.1 inch, 1024 x 800 pixels
- 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270
- Windows XP Home
- 1GB of RAM
- 160GB hard drive
- 2.3 hours battery life
- 3.2 pounds (although the shipping weight is listed as 1 pound!?!)
- Price: $423.99
While the other one is the Coby NBPC1022XPBLK which boasts of the following features:
- 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixels
- 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270
- Windows XP Home,
- 1GB of RAM
- 160GB hard drive
- 2.45 hours battery life
- Price: S318.99
