Acer and Asus' rivalry continues and this time in a bigger scale. By bigger scale I mean, the LCD display. These two manufacturers have both released their 11-inch netbooks and are now competiting against each other in the market.

So we have the Acer Aspire One 751 and the Eee PC 1101HA pitted against each other. And the folks at Netbook Italia have observed some differences between these two netbooks.

Here are some of their observations:

  • color difference – the white models of the two netbooks were compared and Acer's netbook is slightly darker than the Eee PC 1101HA, which as we all know is supposed to be pearly white
  • the Aspire One 751 is slightly thinner at 2.5cm than the supposedly ultra-thin seashell Eee PC 1101HA (3 cm)
  • 6-cell battery for the Eee PC 1101HA and only 3-cell battery with no upgrade option for the Aspire One 751
  • the Eee PC 1101HA perferms better when overclocked
  • the Aspire One 751 is more modder-friendly due to small alloy door underneath that you can use to reach the hard disk and RAM in case you want to upgrade
  • when it comes to keyboard, both have full-sized ones but the Aspire One opted for the "chicklet-type" keyboard while the Eee PC 1101HA sports the more traditional-looking keyboard

Both netbooks are practically the same in specs and features.  Check out more comparison photos here.
