Generally, while netbook speakers are good enough for moderate music and video junkies, they're not exactly top notch for cranking up the tunes for a party. ASUS, recognizing this "problem," has come out with uBoom and uBoom Qsound (uBoom Q) bar speakers for its netbooks (and notebooks).
These uBoom speakers get their power from the actual netbook and are connected via a USB port. Once plugged in, these speakers replace the internal sound with high quality enhanced audio.
The standard uBoom model offers 24W of power while the uBoom Q offers 2.4W. Weights of these two speaker models vary as well; the uBoom weighs approximately 3 kilograms while the Q weighs roughly 400 grams.
There is currently no information about pricing for these audio-enhancing speakers.
