The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has awarded the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell netbook the prestigious European Netbook 2009-2010 award, and it's easy to see why. The slim netbook was described by the Mobile Devices Panel as having "one [of] the largest [LED-backlit displays] in its category", being "very easy to carry" and containing the flexible "Intel Atom N280 processor, the very best in the field".
One sentence in particular summed up the EISA designation:
"If you want to have the most powerful netbook, and the most fashionable one, the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell is your best choice."
That's quite a lot of praise, but considering the Seashell's ergonomic and superior form it's hard to disagree. Samson Hu, VP of the ASUS Eee Business Unit explained just what ASUS was going for when it designed the Seashell netbook:
"When we set about designing the Eee PC 1008HA Seashell, we wanted to make a statement both in terms of aesthetics and functionality… We were keen to equip it with the very best features, but remained sensitive to how this would impact the overall form of the device. I think we've struck a perfect balance with the Eee PC 1008HA Seashell - everything about it just makes sense. Receiving EISA's European Netbook 2009 - 2010 award reassures us that we are charting the right course with our design and development efforts."
Amen to that. Keep it up, ASUS, and we'll keep buying your netbooks!
