How does that sound to you? – Eee-Book Reader? To be honest it doesn't sound so good to me. But hey, it's just a possible name and who knows we might be looking at the future of netbooks – from an ultraportable computing machine to a measly eBook Reader. Well at least it will be able to retain the Eee branding.
What are we talking about here anyway? Well, words on the street said that Asustek is looking into the possibility of releasing their own eBook Reader under the Eee Family. So, this means that the Eee PC will no longer be synonymous to netbook.
And guess what, Asus is looking into a possible release before the year ends, despite knowing the fact that the market for e-book reader is still lower than netbooks. Wasn't it a few days ago only when Asus was saying that it will postponed the production of the Android smartbook because of uncertainty in the market? Is an e-book reader more viable than smartbook?
Well, probably Asus is looking into the US e-book reader market where the likes of Sony and Amazon are currently competing.
So get ready for the Eee-book Reader folks.
