AVIA netbook steals Sony style... for the lid only

avia n101

Now that Sony has actually entered the netbook game with the Vaio Mini W, it's a lot harder for Chinese companies to pump out Sonyesque netbooks. Once upon a time, all you had to do was slap a VAIO label on any old netbook. Now, people will probably point out that these Sony clones lack the chiclet keyboard and high resolution display found on the real Sony Vaio Mini W netbook.

But that doesn't seem to have stopped the folks behind the AVIA N101 netbook in China from making sure that the AVIA logo looks suspiciously Sony-like. The specs aren't that different from the Sony netbook either, bu that's because most netbooks these days have the same specs: 1.6Ghz Intel Atom processor, 1Gb of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. The N101 also has a 10 inch display, a 1.3MP webcam and weighs 2.9 pounds. No word on the battery capacity or price.
