Samsung Meego Netbook To Be Released

MeeGo Linux may have been a dead-end for Nokia, but it seems others think the OS has some possibilities to it.

Asus has already announced a low-cost netbook for the platform and it seems they're not the only one. Samsung has the N100 netbook ready for release in India.

Costing $275 in India, it's got WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 10.1 inch display. Overall, it looks to be pretty nice for a netbook. Similar to the NC11o Windows netbook from Samsung, the only difference is the MeeGo OS and the slower CPU – which accounts for the cheaper price, too.

MeeGo may not exactly be familiar to many, but the light-weight Linux-based operating system is aimed at beginners and has a completer suite of app: a web browser, social networking apps, multimedia apps, and pretty all the basic features you'd expect from a modern OS. Plus, it's free.

Unfortunately, it seems Samsung is only going to release this baby in India.
