Asus's New Meego Powered Netbook Eee PC X101

Asus Netbook Eee PC X101Asus is expected to release its Eee PC X101, according to Asus's site – the 920g wonder will substitute the segment of mini-laptops. The new crimson-colored ultraportable is expected to retail by the middle of this month around European markets.

The device is accustomed to the MeeGo Linux, and will not operate in any of the Windows, which was former the main OS for its netbooks. The MeeGo-running netbook sports a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display, 8GB SSD, Bluetooth, 1.33 GHz Intel Atom N435 (or N455) CPU, WiFi, SDHC card support and USB 2.0. With a price tag of $200, the netbook finally hits retailers' shelves this month, you can also settle in white and brown (a Zune homage, we assume). The exact release date is not known though, but at least you have something cute to look forward to.

According to ASUS Technology Country Head in India, Alex Huang, "In ASUS X101 netbook we have integrated the consumer's productive needs with his lifestyle requirements to enrich our customers' experience. I am sure this new offering will bring in substantial traction."
