Small tablets aren't exactly the rage right now. This is because everyone wants the 7-inch size for reading and 10-inch size for viewing. The 5-inch sized tablet can conceivably do both – but it doesn't do them well.
Well, the Dell Streak is in that particular market, but soon it won't be alone. Latte Communications is going to release its new ICE Smart 5-inch tablet and it looks pretty great.
Packing an 800MHz processor, WiFi connectivity, and a 5-inch 800 x 480 display – it actually sounds like one of the ubiquitous Android smart phones around. But with additional stuff like an HDMI port and USB ports, it beats out those phones and borders on tablet territory. Running on Gingerbread, the ICE Smart seems to be aiming for that sweet sport between tablet and phone – which is smart decision considering that its only got a one competitor.
With a price tag of $190, it is a pretty smart option for those looking at an iPod or Samsung's cheap Galaxy offerings.
