Asus to launch their first dual core Eee PC

Following on from other manufacturers who have already added the latest Intel Atom processor to their netbook range, Asus are the next company to do so. The Asus Eee PC 1015PEM is expected to be released in the US today and should be available from retailers such as J&R and Amazon.

The Asus Eee PC 1015PEM will be the first 10 inch netbook from Asus to include the Intel Atom 1.5GHz dual core N550 processor. The netbook will also come with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and Windows 7 Starter Edition and a choice of a 160GB, 250GB, or a 320GB hard drive. There will also be three battery configuration options: 48Whr, 56Whr, or 63Whr. There will also be a choice when it comes to the color of the netbook, with the Eee PC 1015PEM being available in black, white, blue, red, or pink.

While there's several different configuration options, we only have pricing for two of the models at the moment, the 1015PEM-PU17 and the 1015PEM-MU17 which will be available for $379 and $349 respectively. The Eee PC 1015PEM-MU17 comes with a lower capacity battery.
