Asus launches the Eee PC 1015PEM dual core netbook in the US

The Asus Eee PC 1015PEM is the first 10 inch netbook from Asus with a 1.5GHz dual core Intel Atom N550 processor. It's expected to launch today at retailers including Amazon and J&R.

In addition to the dual core processor, the netbook features DDR3 memory and either a 250G or 320Gb hard drive depending on the model. It comes with USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 technology as well as 802.11b/g/n WiFi.

The laptop will be available in red, blue, pink, black, or white colors.

Asus will ship the Eee PC 1015PEM with Windows 7 Starter Edition and 1GB of RAM. The computer has a 0.3MP camera and will come with three different battery options: 48Whr, 56Whr, or 63Whr depending on the configuration. The netbook measures 10.3″ x 7″ x 1.4″ and weighs 2.8 pounds.

The Eee PC 1015PEM-PU17 will run $379, while the Eee PC 1015PEM-MU17 will come with a lower capacity battery for $349.
