Now that Windows 7 is officially available, you can walk into stores all over the world and walk out with a PC running Microsoft's newest operating system. Starting soon you'll also be able to get a netbook running Windows 7 from US wireless carriers in the US and Europe.
We already know that the Nokia Booklet 3G will be available soon from AT&T. But Verizon has also announced plans (as expected) to begin offering the HP Mini 110 netbook and HP Mini 311 notebook with NVIDIA ION graphics and an Atom processor soon.
The Register reports that 4 European telecoms will also add Windows 7 netbooks to their lineups in October and November. T-Mobile, O2, Vodafone, and Telia Sonera are among the first European wireless carriers to make announcements, but I have a feeling they won't be the last.
What's a bit less clear is whether these or other telecoms will be phasing out their Windows XP netbook offers right away. Wireless carriers tend to be a bit behind the retail market in offering upgraded models, and the companies go through all the work of approving a device to run on their network, I can see them wanting to keep it around for a little while.
