Acer has been pretty experimental lately, announcing a dual-booting Android netbook, a new nettop, and an 11.6-inch tablet netbook running Windows 7. However, it's latest innovation is a bit on the gimmicky side – a TriDef application allowing 2D-3D conversion in games and apps, packaged with the $780 Acer 5758DG laptop along with a set of 3D glasses.
The application works for software supporting DirectX 9 and above. It works in conjunction with a special coating applied to the 15-inch screen on the Acer machine.
