Assurant Solutions is introducing a new netbook protection program, available to consumers all over the US via wireless carriers. The program offers "accidental damage, theft, loss, mechanical breakdown, virus protection and technical support."
President Manny Becerra, noting netbooks' wild growth, explained the motivation for the new protection program:
"We saw a need for a comprehensive protection program designed specifically for mini-computers. We are continually searching for new services and products that will enhance the customer-carrier relationship. This program is ready for carriers to implement today – or in time for the holidays – as a new benefit for their customers and a new source of revenue for their businesses."
